Are we still in Colombia or in the Austrian Alps? I felt like Maria in Sound of Music and sang “The hills are alive…” and danced through the highland meadows under a blue sky and with a stunning view of the Suesca lagoon.
Suesca in Cundinamarca, though just a short drive from Bogotá, made us feel like we had been tele-transported to the Austrian Alps.
I was lucky to drive my friend’s 4×4.
My friend Hugo found a donkey named Álvaro Uribe, like the extreme-right Colombian ex-president. There are people with a sense of humour in Suesca.
Suesca is said to be a particularly good place for climbing, but we sticked to walking, cooking, eating and chilling in front of the fireplace.
