My dad’s epic comment after his stay in Providencia was that “rain is so much wetter, mud is so much muddier and heat is so much hotter here than anywhere I’ve ever been”. And he has travelled a lot in his days. Luckily, the rains never lasted for more than 20 minutes.
After one of the rains, we walked along the Manzanillo beach.
I thought the water looked cold, but the others swam for hours.
I was busy enough enjoying the sea shells. As you’re not allowed to take them from the island, I just took a lot of pictures and tried to record the feeling in my mind.
There is a famous quote ascribed to Rudyard Kipling that goes something like “That person who knows to appreciate picking sea shells, is far richer than the son of a millionaire”.
